ABOUT ME

Hello! I’m a freelance art director and designer based in Charlotte, NC.

I’m also a native North Carolinian, which people don’t hear that often. I’ve lived in other states (NY, FL, HI and GA), and that’s where I learned to appreciate everything that this state offers. After several years, I returned to NC, accepted a job at The Charlotte Observer, and became hooked on the daily momentum of print media.

Fast forward to 2026, when my role as Art Director for Charlotte magazine and its sister publications came to an abrupt halt. After publishing for nearly 60 years, the magazine was shut down in late 2025. A chunk of the city’s print history vanished, but fortunately the Robinson-Spangler Carolina Room at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library has an archive of the city mags.

The design content on this site from local businesses and editorial content from Charlotte magazine serve as a time capsule of my favorite features and design projects. The incredibly talented team of editors, writers, co-workers, photographers, stylists and illustrators that I’ve worked with made it exciting to share these stories. The city and people who pursue and achieve their dreams and goals continue to make it rewarding.
